Swansea University Football Club now comprises of 8 teams.
We have 8 teams representing the University on a Wednesday afternoon, with 3 of these competing in the BUCS leagues and the other 5 competing in the Swansea University Intramural League (IML). The club prides itself on competitiveness and quality throughout all teams, beginning with our 1st team who compete in the BUCS Premier League against some of the best football Universities in the UK. Furthermore, all our teams train at Fairwood Training Ground, a state-of-the-art football facility which we share with Swansea City FC.
Swansea University FC also has a side set up by alumni of the Club which, after an extremely successful few years, now competes in the JD Cymru Championship South. This season our sights are set on promotion to the JD Cymru Premier League, the highest division of football in Wales. This would mark our fifth promotion in seven years and enable us to compete against some of the best teams in the country. We are past winners of the West Wales Cup and Swansea Open Cup following victories at the Liberty Stadium.
As well as being one of the largest and most successful sports clubs at Swansea University, Swansea University FC has a significant social side. Every week, rain or shine, we hold Club socials at Savanna on Wind Street. Furthermore, the club prides itself on its links with the local community and has undertaken several charity events, fundraisers and volunteering sessions in the past with plenty more to come in the future.
For anyone wishing to join the club we host trials at the start of the year which are open to all freshers and returning students who are not already members of the club. Details on date, time, location and how to register for these trials will be released on our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages (links at the top right of this page) in the weeks leading up to the start of the academic year. Make sure to like and follow these pages and check them regularly so that you never miss information we put out about our trials and other events.
Swansea University FC is following strict COVID-19 measures in accordance with Welsh government regulations. We have a dedicated member of our staff who ensures these measures are followed by everyone at the Club.
