► Student General Meetings (SGMs)
Student General Meetings (SGMs) Student General Meetings are your opportunity to set the policy and direction of the Students Union. The meetings are chaired by the SU President and are also the time that you can openly question your elected union officers. INFORMATION IS THE CURRENCY OF DEMOCRACY The Student Union has decided to amend the way in which information is sought and provided at Student General Meetings (SGM). In order that fully informed and detailed answers may be provided by the Sabbatical Officers to members of the student body, written questions are now invited eight days in advance of the SGM. The questions should be submitted to the General Office on the second floor of Union House or emailed to administrator@swansea-union.co.uk – they will then be brought to the attention of the relevant Sabbatical and will be answered in full at the next SGM. Whether it’s a question about a Sabbatical’s favourite ice cream flavour or the sale of Fair Trade goods in SUSU outlets – ask your questions NOW! Questions are therefore invited for the next Student General Meeting which will be held on Thursday November 12th in Faraday A at 6pm. Questions (and motions) should be submitted by Midday on Wednesday November 4th.
