Complaints
Should a student wish to complain about teaching, the facilities or services provided by the university, or about the way that the university or staff has acted or failed to act, there are complaints procedures that set out how students can get their complaints addressed.
http://www.swansea.ac.uk/registry/A-ZGuide/C/ComplaintsProcedure/
There are stages to the complaints procedure that have to be adhered to.
Stage 1 Informal complaint to the individual or manager concerned.
Stage 2 Written complaints to the Head of School or Department
Stage 3 Formal complaint to the Academic Registry
These stages have to be kept to and there is a timescale so that complaints can be dealt with quickly.
Accommodation has a separate complaints procedure for Stage 1 & 2 but Stage 3 is the same as the university.
If you are still dissatisfied at this point you may appeal to the Office of the Independent Adjudicator (OIA). www.oiahe.org.uk The OIA handles individual complaints against higher education institutions and is a free service to students.
For help and advice with all complaints, students should contact the Advice Centre.
