Background
Originating in Korea, Tae Kwon Do is a modern form of self-defence which has grown in popularity since its inception and is now practised in nearly every country in the world.
Taekwondo is most famous for its dynamic kicking, as it makes extensive use of the legs, since the legs are longer and more powerful than the arms.
However, there are many other aspects to the art including blocks, punches and strikes with the hands or arms as well as throws and grappling.
