Welcome to the Swansea University Geoscience Society, a newly founded society for 2024/25.
Who we are?
We founded this society out of a passion for geoscience, also known as earth science. While studying, we felt there was also a gap for academic student-to-student support within the geography department, which covers environmental science, physical and human geography, and of course geoscience degrees. We aim to show geoscience is not just about rocks and fossils; it is the study of the physical, chemical, and biological aspects of the planet Earth. It includes fields such as geology, geochemistry, geophysics and paleontology. It is a focal part of life and key to both the past and present. We aim to bring you interesting geological adventures, and we look forward to collaborating with the geography society to bring you the best support and fun to aid your studies, interests, and time here at Swansea University.
