It’s that time of the year again…. It’s time to Coppa Feel!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and here at the SU we’ve been increasing our efforts to raise money and awareness for this cause!
This month focusses on sharing educational information surrounding breast cancer and supporting those who have battled against it!
Breastcancernow.org revealed that, every year around 55,000 women and 370 men are diagnosed with breast cancer, and 1 in 7 women in the UK will develop breast cancer in their lifetime!
Therefore, it is so important to regularly check your breasts for any abnormalities or changes! When checking your breasts look out for the following:
- Lumps or swelling
- Changes in size or shape
- Changes in texture i.e. dimpling of the skin
- Rash, crusting or changes to the nipple
- Unusual discharge from nipples
These are all common symptoms of breast cancer, and If you notice any you should contact your GP!
Pulling together!
We held our annual Ladies Day on Sunday 16th of October. The day saw teams of female students compete in several sporting activities whilst coming together to support breast cancer awareness!
Your on-campus café & bar, JC’s, has pulled out all the stops to support this campaign! An information corner has been set up for students to familiarise themselves with key information surrounding the campaign. Why not treat yourself to their limited-edition breast cancer awareness cocktails such as the Mar’titty or maybe the Only the Breast Shake!
They’ve also planned several fund-raising events, such as their Mini Market Fundraiser and the Big Fat Titty Quiz! We've rallied in some student staff to dress as boobs and hand out leaflets and raise money across our campuses.
Keep an eye on our socials this month for all the updates and information surrounding this campaign! And remember… Coppa Feel and check your breasts!!

Datgelodd Breastcancernow.org bod tua 55,000 o fenywod a 370 o ddynion yn cael diagnosis o ganser y fron bob blwyddyn, a bydd 1 o bob 7 menyw yn y DU yn datblygu canser y fron yn ystod eu hoes!
Felly, mae mor bwysig gwirio dy fronnau'n rheolaidd am unrhyw annormaleddau neu newidiadau! Wrth wirio dy fronnau edrycha am y canlynol:
- Lympiau neu chwyddo
- Newidiadau mewn maint neu siâp
- Newidiadau mewn gwead h.y. y croen yn pylu
- Brech, crameniad neu newidiadau i'r deth

Mae'r rhain i gyd yn symptomau cyffredin o ganser y fron, ac os wyt ti’n sylwi ar rai dylet gysylltu â dy feddyg teulu!
Dod at ein gilydd!
Cynhaliwyd ein Diwrnod Merched blynyddol ar Ddydd Sul 16eg o Hydref. Yn ystod y diwrnod bu timau o fyfyrwyr benywaidd yn cystadlu mewn gweithgareddau chwaraeon wrth ddod at ei gilydd i gefnogi ymwybyddiaeth o ganser y fron!
Mae ein caffi a bar ar y campws, JC’s, wedi gwneud pob ymdrech i gefnogi’r ymgyrch hon! Mae cornel wybodaeth wedi'i sefydlu er mwyn i fyfyrwyr ymgyfarwyddo â gwybodaeth allweddol am yr ymgyrch. Beth am fwynhau eu coctels ymwybyddiaeth canser y fron cyfyngedig fel y Mar’titty neu Only the Breast Shake!
Maen nhw hefyd wedi cynllunio sawl digwyddiad codi arian, fel eu Digwyddiad Codi Arian Marchnad Mini a Chwis Big Fat Titty!
Daeth rhai o'n myfyrwyr at ei gilydd i wisgo fel bronnau a dosbarthu taflenni a chodi arian ar draws ein campysau.
